The Newcastle Knights are targeting Broncos star Tevita Pangai Jr, according to a report by The Newcastle Herald.

It is understood that Knights officials have already touched bass with Pangai’s management and held preliminary discussions and are “doing everything they can” to bring back to Newcastle.

“Yes, we’ve had some preliminary talks and the indication is Tevita is keen to at least consider a move back to Newcastle,” Knights player list manager Troy Pezet toldΒ The Newcastle Herald.

“It’s really early days and everyone will be after him. But he’s got strong ties here so we’ll see how it plays out.”

Re-signing Kalyn Ponga and Jesse Ramien remains a priority for the Knights, but there is believed to be enough wiggle room to make an enticing offer to Pangai. However, they would have to outbid the likes of the Sydney Roosters and Brisbane.

Despite Pangai knocking back Newcastle’s offer last season, Knights officials remain optimistic that he showed a genuine interest of returning to Newcastle at some stage of his career.

All they will need now is a good quality hooker

  2. I would say it is a three way battle between the Transit Lounge big guns Newcastle, soufffths and Parra. I really can’t see souffs getting him unless George Burgess like rumoured wants and gets his wish to play with the Roosters, a champion grand final potential team who on average during the 21st century participate in a grand final once every (2 point 7 years) 2.7yrs while at soufffs they average a grand final once every 19 years in the 21st century.

Pangai Junior won’t be going to soufffths any time soon with Bennett coaching them. Otherwise he would have already signed with them when Bennett went there. I hate to say it but if I was The giant Junior I would be Rooster Bound if he wants a premiership without the million bucks. Probably 750-800kπŸ’ͺπŸ”πŸ‘‰======πŸ“πŸ†πŸ“πŸ† If he wants the million and no premiership then Newcastle. If he wants a million and no semi-finals then TAKE YOUR PICK.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ€£

  3. But lets face it. So far in his career he is only a half a season wonder. The Roosters will never offer him a million. He hasn’t proved himself for long enough.🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱🎱

  5. Boyd must move to the Wing that’s what a good caption would do.

History’s proven that he’s a winger being that he’s the second highest try scorer in State of Origin history , he should take a page out of INGLIS BOOK GI’s 2 fat 4 fullback so he moved into centres. Boyd knows the winger spot well and let isaako into fullback he’s a talented kid Yea he had a shocker against the Dragons but that’s the worst game iv seen him play, in saying that did any of the Broncos play good in that game.

  6. Nah mate no cheating here. It was a “misunderstanding” on the NRLs behalf. Unlike the Rorters!!! The thieving 🐢

  7. He is not worth one million a year!
The guy goes missing too much.
But seriously, how could Newcastle fit him in their cap?
    Sombrero Knights!

  8. I hope souffs buy him to add to the woes of their salary cap space and he might play five good games a season for them. πŸ’ͺπŸ”πŸ‘‰—–πŸ˜πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚

  9. Newcastle must be favourites, or Junior could take a page out of soufffths TRANSIT LOUNGE BOOK and go there with all nine other duds they signed up last off season.πŸ’ͺπŸŽ±πŸ‘‰—-😁
