Which player would your club love to have back?

It's part of the game these days. Players will invariably leave your club and chase opportunity at another. Some leave for more playing time, some leave for money and some are just looking for a fresh start. Regardless, we all look at some of the players that have left our club recently and secretly wish we could have them back. Check out the one player we think your club would love to have back this season! Norman's great kicking game is something the Broncos are really lacking. Norman would be top of the pecking order even with the likes of Ben Hunt and Anthony Milford. No disrespect to Blake Austin or Aidan Sezer but their halves are the weak point right now. The side is not gelling and their attack is not clicking like it was in 2016. Anthony Milford would add class to the Canberra outfit. Milford has one of the best running games in the comp that would provide time, space and opportunity to Canberra’s outside backs that are very capable of finishing off tries. Milford has guided the Broncos to a Grand Final and also was the replacement for Jonathan Thurston in Game 1 if State of Origin. Canberra would benefit if Milford came back to the nation’s capital. (Photo by Brendon Thorne/Getty Images)[/caption] Jonathan Thurston Who wouldn’t love the best player in the world and future immortal? The Bulldogs main weakness is their halves and their attack. Jonathan Thurston is the best half in the world and he is great at setting up tries. Thurston is also known for his goal kicking which would also help Canterbury. (Photo by Mark Kolbe/Getty Images)[/caption] Tyson Frizell The Sharks already boast a huge forward pack lead by Paul Gallen, Andrew Fifita, Wade Graham and Luke Lewis. Adding Tyson Frizell to that pack would spell death for the other 15 clubs. Frizell is an Origin representative and a hard-running back rower. He generates a lot of momentum up the middle and that would give more time and space to Holmes and Maloney. Cronulla would love to have Frizell back at the Sharks. Adding him to Jarryd Hayne, Konrad Hurrell, Anthony Don and Ashley Taylor means that Gold Coast would have a formidable backline capable of racking up cricket scores. You can never be a good side without good forwards but Gold Coast have plenty of them. Up front with Ryan James and Jarrod Wallace along with Kevin Proctor, Titans are capable of building momentum through the ruck. Rapana would be a massive boost to the Gold Coast and I am sure they would love to have Jordan back. (Photo by Mark Kolbe/Getty Images)[/caption] Jared Waerea-Hargreaves The Sea Eagles are flying high in 2017. They are scoring plenty of points on the back of Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves would add some aggression to a pack with plenty of go-forward thanks to Martin Taupau and Jake Trbojevic. Waerea-Hargreaves experience would also be a massive bonus, winning a premiership in 2013 with the Sydney Roosters. Historically though, their players tend to leave the club and not go on to bigger and better things. But still, the Storm probably wouldn’t mind having Kevin Proctor back at the club. His combination with Cooper Cronk was fantastic and was a part of their success over recent seasons. His hairstyle was also a favourite among Melbourne fans! Darius Boyd is known for getting his side over the line when the scores are close and he has been around for a long time. Boyd is a ball-playing fullback and that would benefit the Knights because they have outside backs that are capable of finishing off tries. Boyd has had a long career for Australia and the Maroons whilst winning Grand Finals in 2006 and 2010. Boyd going back to the Hunter wouldn't make the Knights a premiership threat but they probably would have won a few of those close matches and might avoid the wooden spoon. (Photo by Mark Kolbe/Getty Images)[/caption] Russell Packer The Warriors boast great outside backs that can definitely score points. The weakness for the Warriors has been their forward pack. The pack lacks aggression, size and power which is exactly what Russell Packer would bring to the club. He was part of their Grand Final side in 2011 and also is an international representative. Packer generates a quick play the ball and also has a handy offload. This would be improve Johnson’s game as he would have more time and space to do his magic. Packer could turn the Warriors into a top 8 side if he crossed the Tasman. North Queensland look a little short on size out wide. Tautau Moga is 194cm and 107kg, that is bigger than some front rowers. Moga is a giant but also with his size he has skill and mobility. These are some of the best qualities for a centre and would help the Cowboys score plenty more points. With Clinton Gutherson, Semi Radradra, Bevan French and Corey Norman this side is very capable of scoring points. In the forwards however, they are a bit short. Adding Junior Paulo would be instrumental for the blue and gold army with is dynamic running game as well as his big shots in defense. Adding Paulo to a forward pack containing Nathan Brown, Tepai Moeroa and Manu Ma'u would turn the Eels from a top 8 side to premiership threats. (Photo by Mark Nolan/Getty Images)[/caption] Luke Lewis Panthers have one of the most talented rosters in the competition. They don’t quite have the experience to become premiership threats. Luke Lewis won the Grand Final with the Panthers in 2003, as well as the Grand Final in 2016. Lewis has been around for a long time and he is still playing as good as ever before. In defense, Lewis is one of the best in the competition. Luke Lewis would be a role model for the younger players on what it takes to be successful. He is still playing his best footy and would add a lot to the Panthers. (Photo by Mark Nolan/Getty Images)[/caption] Nathan Brown The Rabbitohs showed that they are a top 8 threat when they took on the Panthers. Unfortunately, Souths will probably miss September footy this year due to inconsistency. Nathan Brown is a consistent performer who has improved every week. He is the sort of player that Souths need. Add Brown to a pack containing Sam Burgess and Angus Crichton and they would match it with the very best. (Photo by Brett Hemmings/Getty Images)[/caption] Trent Merrin The Dragons already boast a pack containing Paul Vaughan, Russell Packer, Tyson Frizell and Jack de Belin. The addition of Trent Merrin would make them almost unstoppable. Merrin is a tackle-busting freak and has a good offload. He was part of the premiership side in 2010 and has represented in the State of Origin arena. If Merrin returned to the Dragons it would complete one of the best forward packs in the NRL. His footwork and agility is unbelievable and it causes fear for the opposition when he gets his hands on the ball. He was part of the 2013 premiership side for the tri-colors and they would certainly love to have him back. (Photo by Mark Kolbe/Getty Images)[/caption] Martin Taupau The Wests Tigers back-row is one of the worst in the NRL. It lacks size, power and skill. Martin Taupau is exactly what the Tigers need because he has size, strength, a good fend and also he creates momentum off the back of his offloads. Ta-POW was a fan-favourite among the Tiger’s fans and he would improve the their pack by well adding aggression, size and strength. Taupau is almost indestructible and is a player the Tigers desperately need.
