The Manly Sea Eagles' salary cap saga is nearing a conclusion, following a tough three months for the club.

Back in March, the Sea Eagles were fined $750,000 with $250,000 suspended, after they were found to have have been guilty of salary cap breaches.

The NRL also took $660,000 off their salary cap for the remainder of 2018, plus the 2019 season.

Despite the NRL finding the Sea Eagles guilty, club chairman Scott Penn is confident Manly did not breach any salary cap regulations.

Manly CEO Lyall Gorman just can't wait to put the saga behind him.

“We expect that it is going to be in front of the tribunal in the next two or three weeks and that will be it," Gorman told the Daily Telegraph.

“It will be resolved one way or the other.

“That will be a good one to move on from.”

With the salary cap breach impacting the Sea Eagles' recruiting, Manly will certainly be pleased to see the back of the entire scandal.

One rumour that won't seem to go away involves Marty Taupau potentially leaving the Sea Eagles, although both Taupau and coach Trent Barrett have strongly denied the claims.

Gorman stood behind the pair in his denial of the murmur.

“I don’t know where that has come from,” Gorman added.

“I’ve been approached by no other club and l’ve had no discussions with Marty.”
