The Wests Tigers and Dolphins have completed their pre-seasons with wins on Friday evening, while the Penrith Panthers and New Zealand Warriors will head into the season proper on the back of losses.

The four sides all showed plenty during the double-header at Leichhardt, but there will be plenty of questions and talking points to be answered over the fortnight leading into their respective Round 1 encounters.

The Tigers have an even longer wait with the Round 1 bye.

Here are all the talking points from Friday evening's action at Leichhardt.

4. Will Trai Fuller have a role with the Dolphins?

Maybe the NRL's biggest backline crunch comes at the club the Warriors played on Friday evening though, with the Dolphins having far too many players for the five spots - all of them starting calibre.

With Kristian Woolf confirming Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow will be given first crack at the number one jersey, the picture does become a little clearer, and it likely means Trai Fuller is on the outside looking in.

Certainly, the centre and wing spots will be filled by Jamayne Isaako, Herbie Farnworth, and a combination of Jake Averillo, Selwyn Cobbo and young gun Tevita Naufahu who was excellent on Friday.

Towering winger Jack Bostock will also likely claim a spot once he is fit.

It means Fuller will be reduced to fighting for a role on the six-man bench. He will likely find one, but he is too good to be doing that job each week.
