The Parramatta Eels might be interested in getting cult hero Semi Radradra back to the club but that isn't stopping them trying to lock down the new Fijian flyer in the meantime.

Reports Fox Sports journalist James Hooper suggests that the Eels are close to re-signing the NRL's leading try-scorer Maika Sivo to a deal that would see the rookie Fijian become a millionaire overnight.

Sivo is currently on a minimum wage contract worth $72,500, plus $3000 for every NRL match plays and with his output so far at NRL level, it won't be long before other clubs come knocking looking to add the big winger to their side.

And with performances like last night against the Warriors, it's no wonder the Eels have upped negotiations to keep the 25-year-old in the Blue and Gold.

The reports indicate the Eels are looking to re-sign Sivo on a new three-year deal worth $1 million dollars.

If Sivo can keep up his current form, or perhaps even get better, the Eels will still have a bargain on their hands at that price.

  1. According to Semi and his manager it’s all a crock and he isn’t leaving union.
If he does we have more than enough cap space to fit him in.

  2. “Lock it in, Eddie”.
He’s well and truely earned his starting spot, and is an asset to, and a good fit at the club.
