Canberra has confirmed forward Hudson Young will accept the early guilty plea on his Grade Three dangerous contact charge, and will miss the next five matches.

Young made contact with the eye of Bulldogs forward Aidan Tolman, with the suspension increased to five matches due to a prior similar offence in the past two years.

The eye gouge case is the second major one of the 2019 season, with North Queensland forward Josh McGuire allegedly gouging the eye of Storm star Cameron Munster back in mid-April.

However, McGuire was only fined $3350 for the incident.
