The Rabbitohs have announced the signing of forward Ethan Lowe for the 2019 season.

The 27-year old joins South Sydney after 108 NRL games for the North Queensland Cowboys, making his debut in 2013 and winning a premiership with the team in 2015.

Lowe is renowned for his hard working attitude and goal-kicking prowess, boasting an 80 per cent success rate.

Rabbitohs GM Shane Richardson was delighted to make Lowe's signing official.

โ€œHe has a number of strings to bow which will benefit our squad and he is an edge back rower who will create more competition for spots in our back row throughout the season," Richardson told the club website.

โ€œHe will have an opportunity to put his best foot forward under Wayne (Bennett) here at Souths and weโ€™re all looking forward to seeing what he can achieve in red and green.โ€

  5. He is solid player mate, he had a terrible season 2018 but so did half of the cows. Lowe AKA Snake (from the simpsons) was a standout in 2015.

This is a very very very good signing having douehi amone tatola knight and lowe and that ex storm player with the beard all fight it out for the bench spots will up the ante and keep the 3burgixsutto on their toes all season and bayley sirronen and kurt dillan will have to pull up their socks remarkably to even get a wiff of the bench in my opinion.

Look I believe Bennett’s ego in his old age is that he believes he is as good as Bellamy who is famous for turning rejects into superstars once again. Bennett is unable to get the best out of the best these days.   18. If I was in charge of the Cows I would have kept this guy over signing Kahu… I know not same position but if it kept the cap in line then I would have left it as is and watched for Lowe to come right this season.
