Penrith Panthers are delighted to announce Leilani Latu has signed a new deal to remain with the club until at least the end of the 2020 season.

The 23-year-old prop forward was already committed to the Panthers until the end of 2017 but this week agreed to a further three-year extension.

Leilani Latu is the shining example of what perseverance can bring,” Panthers Executive General Manager Rugby League Phil Gould AM said.

“Restricted by injury in the early part of his career, Leilani has worked really hard to now establish himself as a representative class forward.

“It’s just further justification of the club’s strong investment in a reserve grade development pathway here at the Panthers.

“It’s wonderful that Leilani will now be with us for the next four seasons.”

  1. F*#K YEH!!!!!!!
Awesome player….. Fantastic to see him commit at the foot of the mountains

  2. A prop with a more than decent Passing game that can also bend the defensive line is a what every team needs. Panthers have one for the next 4 years. Great Signing!

  3. speaking of which, I hope super-coach Flanno is looking for a decent replacement, in case Gal does retire.

  4. Good luck to him very good player. Sad the dogs let him go last year I think but you can’t keep them all

  5. Will be playing state of origin very soon.

  6. This guy is a champion player..Penrith have done well to get him there..and obviously he is glad to be a Panther. He is still very young and will be remembered in years to come as a great forward of the game. Klemmer will never be the forward this guy could become.

  7. Latu is 23 klezmer is 22. They’re seperated by 9 months I think but look where klemmer is compared to Latu. Klemmer could be anything.

  8. Wow awesome news. Looking to be a strong stable team in the next few years for the Panthers. I wonder if this was part of the “Gus” plan.
