Titans halfback Kane Elgey has signed a two-year deal with the Sea Eagles, beginning in 2019.
Having not played NRL for over three months, there was speculation that the 23-year old may look to continue his career in England.
Elgey was courted by Manly three years ago after his sensational rookie season, but he remained loyal to Gold Coast. He has made 43 NRL appearances to date.
Elgey missed the entire 2016 season after sustaining after a pre-season accident, and a sternum injury halted his 2017 campaign, largely making him a forgotten man at the Gold Coast.
"It's been hard and pretty nerve-wracking," Elgey told NRL.com, in regards to his oblivion at the Titans and not being offered a new deal.
"Of course I was worried [he mightn't get an NRL contract], but I just had to keep at it in 'Q Cup' and hope my manager could get something for me and in the end I had a few options, which was good.
"It is what it is, it's a business. My type of football wasn't what they wanted here and you have to accept that but hopefully I can go down to Manly and get better and better and I just want to keep learning.
"Having [former Titans head coach] John Cartwright at Manly had a lot to do with it, and Trent Barrett, being a five-eighth, as head coach is great.
"I'm hoping I can stay in the Titans team for the next few games and get some confidence to take into next year but if I'm not I'll go back to Tweed and do my best there.
"All my family came out today and treated it like my last game [for the Titans]."
