The Red Devils are interested in former Sea Eagle Jackson Hastings, but are facing competition from fellow Super League clubs.

The club are one of three sides pursuing Hastings, given they need a much-needed injection of funds with their Super League future on the line.

Though Huddersfield rejected offers after growing tired of waiting and are now looking elsewhere, two other Super League clubs yet to be named are closing in on Hastings.

The 22-year-old is now a free agent after being released from NRL side Manly after a turbulent series of events that led to his demotion, including an altercation with captain Dale Cherry-Evans.

Sea Eagles boss Trent Barrett said of the event that concerns have been ongoing.

“This certainly isn’t a one-off incident. We have pretty well documented a lot of things over the past 12 months”, he told

  1. Breaking news.
    Bryce Cartwright to Sea Eagles.
I’m not sure how I feel about this.
    Very similar player to Sironen.
    He better come cheap.

    • Oh NOOOOOOOOO the carty party at manly oh damn.

      Wright jono and matt

Man we have signed some massive duds the last few years i suppose the only upside is the bryce is the best of a broken lot. T.Baz to the rescue

        • Oh yeah haha its a fair list innit now this cartwheel character is coming he could be good.. could 🤞

      • There’s some duds on the list, but really they all came cheap except Myles he was the worse signing…
Willie mason served his purpose for the year..
Everyone knows Cartwright is a massive talent, and I am another who is very unsure on what to make of this if it happens.
Start with we have sironen and Thompson as our backrowers, Jake is a lock for lock, wouldn’t think he’s okay 5/8 so all o can think is he is coming cheap and will go to a bemch spot and try and fight or just throw it away.
You’d like to think if anyone can get him right (except baz of course lol) would be his uncle. But I guess that can go either way also…
As lon as it doesn’t contribute to loosing someone and he’s cheap, prob worth it I guess..

      • You Manly Supporters keep us soo entertained, this is what happens when you cant produce your own local juniors, you continually pay overs for fringe players!

Add Sean Keppie, he will be another dud that you have paid way too much for!

        Scream you Eagle

      • That list just doesn’t look complete without Lewis brown.
A former Kiwi International, now chief orange cutter.

      • Just think about the uproar that was caused when he left the Panthers? Now that he maybe released from his contract at the Titans, twice in the same season, proves that Gus, and Hook, did the right thing.

  2. If he can spend the next two seasons learning how to not be a pecker head lad he can come back at 25 years old and actually start again

  3. would have to be reaaaal cheap and start in Blacktown until he can tackle again.
does have talent, but im guessing a bench, or depth signing for now.
i thought that Siro was a cheaper version of Cartwright when manly bought him, but now it seems the other way around

  4. ESL bidding war for a reserve grader…. Now I’ve heard it all.

Everyone seems to have missed that not 1 NRL club wants Hastings who is on the open market…. not even for their reggies.

Says it all really. Blokes toxic.

  5. Is it just me or are a lot of articles locked out from comments? Wanted to talk about the Cartwright rumours but can’t comment on the actual article so came here.

IMO the new Titans coach sounds like he might have a very short career if this is true. Cartwright contract was the first thing he did coming to the club and paying $750k a year for a player that turned out to be reserve grader at best even while heavily favoured by the coach is not a good sign for either of them. If the Titans have to pay a large chunk of his salary to play for another club I’m sure they will be looking closely at the coach who brought him over and failed to really accomplish anything this year.
