Sydney Roosters fullback Michael Gordon is facing a stint on the sidelines after he was forced from the field with a pec injury in last night's 14-12 win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Losing Gordon for any period of time would be a major blow to high-flying Roosters, with the fullback in outstanding form.

Gordon left the field with seven minutes remaining in the match and was reported to have his arm in a sling as he left the ground.

"I think he's hurt his pec but I don't think it's too bad, I'm hoping it's not too bad," Roosters coach Trent Robinson said after the game.

"He did it about five minutes before he came off which I think is a good sign but Mick also came off and Mick doesn't come off easily."

Gordon will be sent for scans on the injury with a worst case scenario ruling him out for the rest of the season.

Youngster Connor Watson seems to be the likely replacement if Gordon is forced to have a stint on the sidelines.
