Dylan Walker's NRL career was at a crossroads earlier this year, although the Manly five-eighth looks to have done enough to earn himself a contract extension at the Sea Eagles.
Back in May, Walker was acquitted for assaulting his partner, and was able to play in the NRL again after missing the first 10 rounds of the season.
Since then, the 23-year-old has been integral to the Sea Eagles' play, and The Daily Telegraph believes he'll be rewarded with a contract extension in the coming weeks.
The new multi-year deal is one Walker would be pleased with, given his recent comments on how much he'd love to stay at Brookvale Oval.
“I’d love to stay here. Manly’s been good to me and I love the boys here,” Walker said recently.
“I spoke to Des at the start of the pre-season (about his future at the club) and bits here and there but it hasn’t been playing on my mind too much.
“For me it’s about going out there and playing good footy for my teammates.
“To be honest, I haven’t thought about it (the future) too much.
“I will leave that to my manager but I’m pretty optimistic.”
Walker has played 11 games this season for the Sea Eagles, and 68 in total for the club after making the switch from the Rabbitohs at the end of the 2015 season.
