Heading into the pointy end of the 2018 NRL Telstra Premiership season, there are still some massive players yet to decide their future in rugby league.
Zero Tackle has taken a look at the off-contract hookers for next season and decided on a top 5.
This hooker has been playing off the interchange bench for the Roosters in 2018 and is looking to sign on with a club for 2019 and beyond.
The 27-year-old has managed nine games for the Tricolours this year after playing second string to Jake Friend, and given the Roosters already have three hookers on their books, they are reluctant to give Baptiste a contract extension.
Baptiste is a very creative hooker out of dummy half, and would be a great addition to any club, but is likely to return to the Canberra Raiders if negotiations pan out.
The 28-year-old will be coming off a one-year contract with the Titans, but he has the player option of signing on for another year.
Providing a much needed spark of the bench for Gold Coast, Rein has put in some strong performances over his 17 games played in 2018, and is pushing his case for a contract extension.
If Rein doesn't take up the player option with the Titans, he could be hot property for other clubs to swoop in and sign.
After signing a two-year deal with the team from the shire, Segeyaro's playing future is up in the air as his future is not yet decided.
Due to some solid performances for the Sharks in 2018, the Parramatta Eels have entered the race to sign the hooker, reportedly offering him a generous $400,000 a season to join them in 2019.
No word on whether the Sharks will renew Segeyaro's contract at this stage, meaning his best chance to play on in 2019 is at the Eels.
The Kiwi-international is coming off his three-year contract with the Warriors at the end of the season, and is hoping the club will retain his services.
Basically knowing he is playing for a contract extension, Luke has played 17 games this year, making a total of 1268 running metres and gaining an average of 42.9 kicking metres.
The Warriors seem to be reluctant to sign on Luke for long-term given his first two seasons at the club were not great, so a possible move to a rival NRL club or overseas to the English Super League might be on the cards.
It's strange saying the legend that is Cameron Smith is out of a contract come seasons end, but the Melbourne Storm are already in negotiations to extend the champions contract.
At 35 years of age, Smith has accomplished all there is to achieve in the game, but continues to have the passion and drive to better himself and give his all for the Storm.
Wanting to remain a one-club player, Smith is likely to re-sign with the Storm, the question is for how long. Given the hookers recent form, Smith could be around for more years to come.
