The Sydney Roosters have announced that Shaun Kenny-Dowall has been released from the remainder of his playing contract, effective immediately.
Kenny-Dowall was stood down by the Roosters indefinitely in May after he was allegedly caught with half a gram of cocaine at a Sydney nightclub.
It has been rumoured that the Newcastle Knights are still considering signing Kenny-Dowall and could do so before the June 30 deadline.
