Parramatta have stood down Eels forward Kenny Edwards indefinitely after it was alleged he ran from police following a random routine roadside check in April.
Edwards has not been named for the Eels' clash with the Warriors on Friday night, with the club currently investigation the traffic incident.
The 28-year-old did not face Court on Tuesday but instead attended a traffic offenders course, after it was alleged he fled a vehicle and was driving on a suspended licence.
The club were notified of the incident only last week, three weeks after the incident took place.
Parramatta than spoke to the NRL Integrity Unit, but Edwards still played last weekend against the Bulldogs.
The Eels released the following statement on Tuesday about their decision to stand down Edwards.
"After further developments today, the club has decided to stand down Kenny Edwards indefinitely until the internal investigation has been completed. The club will continue to provide welfare assistance to Kenny and his family through this time."
Edwards has had a number of off-field incidents de-rail his NRL career, after he was handed a nine-month ban in 2015 for providing a urine sample on behalf of a teammate.
He was also suspended for seven games last season and fined $60,000 after he was convicted of common assault for pouring alcohol over an ex-partner in late 2016.
