Curtis Scott wants to force his way into the NSW Blues Origin side, using fellow teammate Josh Addo-Carr's rise as inspiration.
The Melbourne Storm centre has continued to improve over the last two seasons, scoring six tries in the 2017 season and a further ten in the last season.
"I will be doing everything I can to hopefully get a jersey," an optimistic Scott told nswrl.com.au.
"I will be putting my hand up. Let’s put it that way.
"But its only round one, so I have got to put my head down and work really hard for that."
Scott played a pivotal role in the Storm's season opener, after he pounced on a mistake to score in a 22-12 victory over the Brisbane Broncos at AAMI Park.
Despite his ambitions to play Origin in three months time, Scott understands it is important to not look past the Storm's next game against the Raiders.
'We will have our hands full this week. They have a very aggressive forward pack and I think it’s going to be a good battle between the forwards," Scott said.
"They kept the Titans to nil and they have a lot of strike power in their outside backs.
"We are confident that if we hang on to the footy and compete, we will go a long way to winning the game."
Scott and the Melbourne Storm play the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium on Friday night.
