Parramatta Eels star Kieran Foran has reportedly walked out on the Eels, taking an indefinite break from rugby league.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that Foran has quit NRL to deal with personal issues, walking out on his $5 million contract at the Eels. Foran reportedly told coach Brad Arthur of his decision on Thursday morning.

The 25-year-old was ruled out for the season earlier this year due to a shoulder injury and later fined by the Eels after failing to fulfill his club duties.

Foran joined Parramatta from Manly at the end of last season on a deal worth $1.2 million per season.

His release will free up salary cap space for the possible return of code hopper, Jarryd Hayne.
