Wally Lewis

"He's the King of Queensland. The king of State of Origin and he's got that title for a reason."

Darren Lockyer

"I got to watch him play when I was growing up. But also I got the opportunity to play alongside him. How he contributes to the game, his kicking game.

"He was as tough as they come. Just had both ball-playing skills and a had great running game as well. I think that's why he made the transition from No.1 to No. 6 quite easily. And was at the top of his game in those positions as well."

Jonathan Thurston

"What isn't there to say about him? He was the ultimate competitor, he never let Queensland down. When Queensland needed a big play, he came up with it.

"At the right place at the right time Jonathan Thurston always found himself."

Cameron Smith

"There's not a whole heap you have to say. Cam at Origin level was, little bit like Wally Lewis, easy to follow, very calm in pressure situations. He was just a great leader amongst men.

Allan Langer

"I really gained a connection with 'Alfy' when I was a young fella. To see what he did at Origin level for his side was so creative. The little grubber through the line, the little chip kick and regather.

"Would put himself in front of 110 kilo men and flip them to the ground. He was an icon for me and he was my hero growing up and that's why he's number one."
