Manly Sea Eagles winger William Hopoate is quitting the Sea Eagles to go on a two-year religious mission.

The 19-year-old will confirm his missionary work at a press conference at the Sydney Academy of Sport in Narrabeen on Friday afternoon.

Hopoate will start his missionary duties at the end of the 2011 NRL season.

The club will also announce he will re-join Manly from 2014.

Hopoate was being pursued by seven NRL clubs, before electing to go on his mission.

The teenager made his senior representative debut for City Origin last week and is already being touted as a future NSW Origin player.
