Jamie Soward
Wigan looking for new half

Stylish Australian superstar Jamie Soward could be on his way to Wigan.

The stand-off has a distinctive kicking method with a swivel and cupped hands that puts Jonny Wilkinson in the shade.

Soward, 27, is the St George Ilawarra Dragons record points scorer and has also represented New South Wales and the Indigenous All Stars.

He would love a spell in Super League and Warriors coach Shaun Wane — having lost playmaker Brett Finch for next season — needs another top-class half-back to play alongside recent recruit Matty Smith.

Soward still has a year left on his contract with the Dragons but his agent has been allowed to offer him around.

Wigan recall his super display against them in the 2011 World Club Challenge.

The outgoing Finch, who was wanted by St Helens, has not settled on a club for 2013.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are said to be keen on the Finch.
