Wests Tigers have secured the services of promising young forward Josh Aloiai for the 2016 season. Aloiai is a former Junior Kiwis representative and joins Wests Tigers after two seasons with the Parramatta Eels in both Under 20’s and NSW Cup.

The talented backrower, who celebrates his 20th birthday today, is renowned for his bruising defence and strong carries.

Aloiai expressed his excitement about joining Wests Tigers for the upcoming season.

“It’s really exciting for me and I’m settling in really well,” Aloiai said.

“I get along with all the boys and the coaching staff so I’m really enjoying it so far. “I enjoyed my time at Parramatta but I believe that Wests Tigers is a step in the right direction for me.”

Aloiai was part of the 2014 Junior Kiwis side that included current Wests Tigers’ NRL squad members Lamar Liolevave, Chance Peni, Watson Heleta and Manaia Cherrington.

    • I feel sorry for the tigers supports for what the board and coach has done to your club looks like another disappointing couple of seasons coming up its just not fair.

  1. No, No, No as Gus would say. He was our future star at lock once Choc retired. But since we signed Woods its a trade deal.

    • Choc didn’t start the season well but by mid season he came good until he got injured. He is better than Buhrer anyway.

      • choc the name manly fans gave too him. He had his worst year ever at Parra. didn’t make origin for the 1st time in like 6 years made no linebreaks either. Buhrer is a gun and young to if he stays on the field he is massive for us

        • He is a manly legend holmsey43. He made a mistake. A terrible one. He already knows this. 2 premierships can’t be forgotten champ. He’s twatmough until he retires. lol.

  2. We have so much great or promising youth in our squad, we need some experience. We need a Choc or a Myles. But what do I know, in JT we trust.

*fingers crossed Robbie goes to Dragons*

    • I don’t think he will go from the tigs mate…
But someone’s going to have to give it up … The coach or Robbie

What other young forwards have u guys got coming thru.

      • Some, but Taupau and Lodge would have been in JT’s plans. The loss of those two with not much in return will hurt. Buying Ballin is just a ploy further to push Robbie out, if we end up with both then it is just insane. Who has two really good established hookers in their side?

  3. Willie Mason you’ll get him cheap enough on a 1 year deal considering you have cap issues????? But he’ll turn up and do his job each week and I’ve heard he is great for lifting team morale and confidence tigers need some help there I feel

    • +1 robertstofullback a few fellas off contract who could be handy additions could be joe boyce, james gavet to make a comeback, nathan gardner, zac santo and luke page but as far as experience goes they might struggle to add anyone.

    • Mason would be just what the Tigers need. Experience, a player who’s been there and done it all. A player who would turn up every week and show the standard that he is used to (from playing with some of the top clubs). JT if at all possible under our cap debacle I hope we are trying to sign him.

  4. Honestly you can write choc off at the end of next year. Fat??? Your farking fool!! He had very average season he’d be the first to tell you that.
I think was injured in the first game against manly. That knee to the ribs was absolutely brutal and he never seemed to recover from that and picked up other injuries.

I guess your going to rehabilitate Lussick? Hahahaha

    • Lussick isn’t as bad as you think, he was making good meters and lots of tackles at the end of 2015, had a great game against us. Sure he gets suspended a fair bit but we have great forward depth to cover that,I think he might surprise some peoples.

  5. Addin fonua blake still to my knowledge hasn’t been picked up he’d be good young forward to sign. Until the time NRL finally gives its full support in kicking players from the code who are involved in violence against women and not just say they support it, players like this still are available for clubs to sign. IMO they should be banished for good to set the right example to our younger generations it seems to be a big problem in rugby league. Contracts signed with NRL should have ZERO tolerance for violence and drugs subject to circumstance, a clause where they become ineligible for any other club in any level of the code for any breaches.

  6. parrmatta is a disgrace to the NRL. without a doubt worst team in the NRL over the years. everysingle good player they buy they ruin. they r sh!t. thats y i dont understand y fans get exicted over big signings. because there gonna be sh!t playing 4 a sh!t team

    • So what Watmough had an average season. Samdow, Hoppa, Lussick may have been fails. But Takairangi, Norman, Peats, Wicks, Ma’u. Have all grown as better players since joining eels. Manly have lots of flops aswell.

        • Corey Norman was in the broncos. how has he gotten better? seriously.
peats got a starting spot but always gets injured. always..

        • taka is a sneaky player I find. He can surprise when he’s on his game. He has long arms and can get a little offload in after drawing players in. He is however an idiot and does drop the ball and make dumb mistakes. wonder which side reek will play on. If he goes right he will be f’d.

    • ease up Turbo!!!!
manly weren’t red hot this year. maybe they got some duds.
Mateo starting to play well around contract renewal time after being lazy all year. hahaha classic Feleti. you guys still got Mason?
let’s not get into how many people hate Manly now.

      • Mac you didn’t mention the biggest duds
        chase Blair
        and hasoon the baboon.
        3 Parra jnrs lol.
Enjoy hasoon he ruined many a game for us. 2 separate games off the kick off drops it cold. straight on the back foot
a bit like old gower lol we used to call him game breaker ?

        • Blair was a roosters junior, Horo was a future star at eels then you ruined him. Hasson might play 1 or 1 games at first grade he is on the bench at wenty currently. Williame was shit that’s why after 1 year we sold him to knights who sold him to you for a 2 yr deal.

  7. dylan walker is going to be fantastic at manly. he is only 21 as well, but it is a shame us manly fans r going to have to wait until 2017 to see him in the maroon and white

    • I heard that today from someone within the sea eagles… 2017 is a done deal and Jack Bird is more and more likely.

    • Yes but a great replacement for Lyon when he retires! Walker is one of our best signings in ages along with Taupau and Parcell. Bob fulton is amazing at getting big names p, walker will look great in manly co,ours.

  8. Good luck to Aloiai.

He was never going to get a run in our backline. Way to many guys in front of him at Parra. He should get a run at the Tigers and will do well for them. Good young bloke.

  9. Manly backline will be shocking once the 3 oldies retire. Turbo hiku an dce will be carrying them flat out. They will probably buy a new team again by that stage however.

    • taufua is a beast. 2013 equal top try scorer and he scores tries not many could. He’s very strong I’m expecting a big year from him. now he can catch again lol
