The New Zealand Warriors are going ahead with their plans to have Wigan’s Shaun Wane as head coach for 2015.
First they want Wane to work alongside coach Matt Elliott and learn the ropes in the NRL.
The Warriors have already flown Wane’s wife Lorraine over to see the North Island and Auckland.
She was joined by the mum of England full-back Sam Tomkins — the Wigan ace is tipped to join the Kiwi outfit next year.
Wane, 48, calls Wigan his ‘dream job’ but has said he would never rule out a top NRL post.
And he is conscious that his predecessor, Michael Maguire, has taken the South Sydney Rabbitohs to the top.
