Rugby sevens convert Shannon Walker will have his chance to press for a contract with the Titans tonight with fullback William Zillman out of the Gold Coast’s trial against Parramatta in Alice Springs.

Walker, who gave up his dream of representing Australia at this year’s Rio Olympic Games to return to rugby league, is on a train and trial deal with the Titans but has a great chance to seal a full-time contract with a strong showing against NRL Auckland Nines champions the Eels.

Zillman missed the Nines last weekend with tightness in his calf and the Titans have decided not to risk him again this week ahead of their main pre-season hit-out against South Sydney next week.

With Josh Hoffman (knee) also on the injured list, Walker and David Mead are expected to share time at fullback tonight.
