Sydney Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is in the early stages of talks to make the switch to Super Rugby with the Waratahs.
Inside Rugby editor Mark Cashman revealed on Fox Sports News Long Lunch that the New Zealand international, who is off contract at the Roosters, has begun talks to explore the possibility of joining the Super Rugby club.
Waerea-Hargreaves has a background in rugby, having been picked up by Manly without having ever played rugby league. He is a former Northern Suburbs player, who graduated to the Waratahs Academy and played for Australia at the 2007 Under 19 Rugby World Championship in Ireland.
Cashman believes that Sonny Bill Williams’s imminent arrival at Bondi Junction might be a reason why the NRL club has delayed re-signing the physical forward, who has played 10 times for New Zealand.
