5. Kieran Foran

The 26-year-old was released from his contract with Parramatta on Friday, after requesting a release from the Eels in a bid to get his life back on track.

In an interview with Daily Telegraph sports editor at large Phil Rothfield, Foran revealed he was recently diagnosed bipolar and said that in April this year, he attempted to take his own life.

While there's no doubting the former Eel and Sea Eagle has the ability to still play first grade when he gets himself right, the question now is more if, and not when, will Foran return to the field.
