Tim Sheens has knocked back a massive deal from the Penrith Panthers to stay loyal to the Wests Tigers.

The veteran NRL coach announced the decision just after 6pm tonight.

The deal will keep him at the Wests Tigers for a further three years.

Sheens had previously agreed verbally to re-sign with the Tigers, but was thrown when offered a massive deal by the Panthers at the last minute.

The Panthers deal was worth an estimated $2.5 million – a staggering $1.28 million more than his Tigers deal.
