Wests Tigers boss Grant Meyer has moved to quell increasing speculation over the future of coach Mick Potter with a passionate letter to members of the NRL club.
Eight rounds out from the end of the NRL regular season Potter remains unsigned for next year.
“Over the past week there has been much speculation about the future of Mick Potter at the Wests Tigers,” Meyer’s letter began. “First and foremost I have no desire to enter a public debate on the topic. Opinion and unnamed sources does nothing but jeopardise the team’s focus on making the NRL finals.
The letter appears to indicate Potter’s hope of having his tenure continued at Concord depends on him getting the Tigers to the finals.
