The Melbourne Storm are “aggressively” on the hunt for a new front-rower following the shock early retirement of premiership forward Bryan Norrie.

Forward Jesse Bromwich was a revelation this season, winning the club’s best and fairest and growing into one of the game’s premier front-rowers.

He was well supported by Norrie and the emerging ­Jordan McLean, but the way Canterbury monstered Storm in the elimination final proved more depth in the forward pack was needed.

The signing of Tom Learoyd-Lahrs will help, but it is clear Storm still require more grunt up front if it is to remain an NRL powerhouse.
