Hooker Matt Srama has been hit with the terrible news that his season is over after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear while playing for Burleigh Bears on Saturday.

The 25-year-old who had been in great form for the Bears, suffered the injury with no contact while running back chasing a runaway Falcons player early inm the second half in the clash with the Sunshine Coast Falcons.

He unfortunately joins Kane Elgey who suffered the same fate while doing a simple defensive drill in the first training session of 2016 after the Christmas break.

“It happened a bit like Kane’s, I just turned and chased in defence and the knee got in an awkward position and it just went on me.”
