The North Queensland Cowboys have secured the services of star second-rower Tariq Sims until the end of the 2015 season.
The 21-year-old rookie, whose original contract with the Cowboys was set to expire at the end of the 2012 season, on Wednesday signed on with the club for a further three seasons.
Sims has been a standout for the Cowboys in his debut NRL season and was a finalist for both the Second-Rower of the Year and Rookie of the Year at Tuesday night’s Dally M Awards.
“I’ve had a really enjoyable season here at the Cowboys this year, although it was pretty disappointing for it to end when it did,” Sims said on Wednesday.
“This is a great club to be part of, both on and off the field, and it’s exciting me to know I’ll be here for at least another four seasons.”
