A Cronulla Sharks player has been charged with assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute.
Isaac Gordon, 24, is alleged to have hit his 31-year-old partner on Thursday night at a home in Sylvania, in southern Sydney.
A day later, the rugby league winger drove from Sydney and presented himself to police at Collarenebri station, en route to his home town of Brewarrina in the state’s northwest.
Without naming Gordon, NSW police confirmed a 24-year-old man had handed himself in at 9pm (AEST) on Friday.
He was charged with assault causing bodily harm and common assault, and was granted conditional bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on October 5.
