The latest rumour floating around apparently comes from the Melbourne camp.
Apparently they are pretty much resigned to the fact that their Toyota Cup coach, Dean Pay, will be leaving them at the end of the year to take up an assistant coach position to none other than Ricky Stuart at the Penrith Panthers.
The announcement won’t happen until after State of Origin though due to Stuart currently being the NSW Blues head coach.
With the Panthers struggling to find the form that saw them finish second last year and with current coach Matthew Elliot off contract, it makes sense that they’d be on the lookout for a new coach. Stuart is one of the biggest names in coaching on the free agent market.
This isn’t the first Stuart to coach *insert team name* rumour we’ve heard though and they will no doubt continue to happen until he does make a return to the NRL coaching ranks.
