If the rumours are true, the South Sydney Rabbitohs hunt for a half-back to replace Chris Sandow might be over.
According to the latest mail, half-back Luke Walsh is seeking a release from the final year of his deal with the Penrith Panthers to take up a big money deal with the Rabbitohs for 2012.
Since losing Sandow to the Parramatta Eels, the Rabbitohs have been on the hunt for a replacement half. They missed out on the signature of James Maloney and have long been rumoured to covet the Melbourne Storm’s Cooper Cronk. There had even been suggestions that Matt Orford was being considered, a sign of their desperation to sign some play-making experience.
If the rumour is false, expect young half Adam Reynolds to don the number 7 jersey for season kick off alongside incumbent five-eighth John Sutton.
