The Parramatta Eels and Timana Tahu are expected to part ways this week which leaves a gap in the Eels backline and some space in their salary cap (Tahu was pencilled in for $300K in 2011).
The Eels are currently being linked to former Melbourne Storm winger Matt King.
King has been playing in the English Super League for the past few years at the Warrington Wolves. Adding fire to the rumours is the recent signing by the Wolves of disgraced NRL player Joel Monaghan, who also plays in the backline.
King also has ties to new Eels coach Stephen Kearney through their time at the Melbourne Storm.
