Anthony Mitchell
Released to Roosters

The latest rumour to do the rounds is that young Parramatta Eels hooker Anthony Mitchell has been released and is joining the Sydney Roosters, effectively immediately.

The 22 year-old Mitchell has played seven first grade games for the Eels but talk of disciplinary issues may have led to his demise at the club. With the Eels signing Chris Sandow and Ben Roberts to fill their halves needs and suggestions that Daniel Mortimer will make a move to the utility position next season, it makes Mitchell more expendable to the club.

The Eels have first choice hooker Matt Keating under contract until 2013 and will no doubt try to re-sign the in form Casey McGuire for at least another season.

The Roosters on the other hand are currently under pressure due to a spate of  injuries and would readily welcome the talent Mitchell has to offer if the rumour turns out to be  true.
