Knights coach Nathan Brown said it was understandable that Robbie Rochow wanted to explore his options on the open market, admitting that other clubs might tempt him with more lucrative deals.

Rochow has one season remaining on his contract with the Knights and, like fellow back-rower Joseph Tapine, has resisted a substantial offer to re-sign.

There are rumours the Country Origin representative has attracted interest from Penrith, Canberra and Manly  and he has informed Knights officials he will be deferring a decision on his future.

Brown said the Knights were eager to retain Rochow but accepted that the 25-year-old wanted to strengthen his bargaining position, after missing all but five games last season with a back injury.
