Tyrone Roberts
Two-year deal

Newcastle Knights halfback Tyrone Roberts says he is happy to have extended his stay at his hometown Club for another two years.

Roberts impressed many with his standout performances in the NYC in 2011, which earned him a call-up to the first grade squad.

He went on to make seven appearances for the Knights in the NRL last season and has cemented his spot as the back up for regular halves pairing Jarrod Mullen and Kurt Gidley.

“I enjoy it here so I was happy to extend my contract and I’m looking forward to the next two years,” Roberts said.

The 20-year-old is likely to have the opportunity to gain further experience in the top grade after Gidley dislocated his shoulder against the Panthers on Monday.
