It is looking more and more likely Ben Ross will return home to either the Cronulla Sharks or Penrith Panthers next season.
The inspirational prop has been one of the NRL’s real surprise packets for the South Sydney Rabbitohs since returning from career-threatening neck surgery.
And it is little wonder the Sharks and Penrith, where Ross won a premiership in 2003, are in the hunt for his signature.
Ross, 31, gave little away at Bunnies training yesterday, but made it clear his current club was not in the market for his services.
“Penrith and Cronulla are both close to my heart, it would be good to be at one of those clubs, but my options are open, and I’m hoping my footy will speak for itself,” said Ross, who added he had at least another couple of years to offer.
