Trent Merrin
Four-year extension

Merrin extends contract until 2015

The St George Illawarra Dragons on Thursday announced that NSW Blues representative prop Trent Merrin has agreed to a three-year contract extension that will see him remain at the Club until at least the end of 2015.

The Shellharbour junior made his first-grade debut for the Dragons against the Penrith Panthers in Round 12 of the 2009 season and has played 52 NRL games to date.

“It was an easy decision as I love the Club and want to be able to play my whole career here,” said Merrin. “I have grown up watching players like Ben Hornby, Dean Young, Ben Creagh and Matt Cooper who are local boys who have been one club players and I want to do that as well”.

“I have learned so much already at this Club and am excited about the future and couldn’t be happier in knowing that I am here for at least for the next three season.”
