Manly Sea Eagles are pleased to announce the signing of Samoan international back-rower Frank Winterstein for the remainder of 2016, and the 2017 season.

The cousin of Cowboys winger, Antonio, Winterstein played five NRL matches for Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in 2008.

Winterstein played in the English Super League competition from 2009-13 with Wakefield Trinity (2009), Crusaders (2010-11), and Widnes (2012-13). He played in seven matches for Samoa from 2006-13.

He also had a stint playing outside centre in 2014-15 with Japanese rugby team, Kintetsu Liners, before joining the Australian Sevens rugby squad at Narrabeen in March this year.

The Sea Eagles signed Winterstein after missing selection in the Sevens squad for the Rio Olympics.
