Manly have secured the signature of one of the hottest young forwards in the game with rising star Liam Knight committing his future to the club.

Knocking back interest from Melbourne, North Queensland, Newcastle and Cronulla, the 21-year-old will remain at the Sea Eagles until the end of 2017.

Close friends with the Trbojevic brothers, Tom and Jake, Knight’s desire to play in the NRL alongside his mates while also remaining loyal to Manly where he began as an SG Ball player, was the overriding factor in his decision to stay.

  1. Great move Manly he is one of the best young forwards in the game in my opinion hopefully he can get some first grade games this year

  2. For once the roosters didn’t get thier man.
    Really happy with this signing.
Hoping he plays next week, however I have no faith in Barrett to pick him

  3. Great news for Manly and a great future for Knight.

Imagine our forward pack in the future…

    8. Jake Trbojevic
    9. Api Koroisau
    10. Liam Knight
    11. Darcy Lussick
    12. Jamie Buhrer
    13. Martin Taupau

Strong forward pack but we’ll see in the future.

    • Not having a dig at your team but if Taupau doesn’t lift his game, he will be a weak link. At the Tigers he rarely played to his potential.

      • Yeah I kinda agree that he doesn’t lift his game up but he can improve by just running hard and tackling hard.

      • I seen watmough in manly last night. I guess ba doesn’t mind if he and the old Charlie have a dance or two.
As for taupau don’t know about weak link

      • Taupau was awesome last year. It’s the best he’s played. He should start on the bench and be an impact player and have Blake Leary at Lock.

        • Depends on how you look at it. He had 9 matches last year were he avged less than 100m. He can be hot and cold, some weeks will fire and win you a game and sometimes just slip away and not perform. He, in my opinion, is no where near the top for forwards.

        • In those matches how many tackle busts/offloads did he have? He’s a ball playing lock, he isnt supposed to be making lots of metres.

  4. excellent news. He could get a run against the tigers. vave was pretty good I thought but I’d rather Lawrence. I think Barrett left him out due to the size of the dogs pack in regards to his back recovery. I’m not sure about green either. Let knight have the 12 jersey I say. he’s fit enough.
    my team against the tigers.
Stewart taufua matai Lyon turbo walker cherry Jake parcel Lawrence lussick knight taupau api leary myles brown
if parcel can play the 80 I’d stick with him after a few rounds and bring in another forward. what you guys think? williame must never be in our squad he is a curse. never won an nrl game the parra dud

  5. If matai and taupau are out play brown in the centers and have lussick in the 13. bring on knight. williame will be chosen again I fear. can’t believe he didn’t get sacked the dud

    • Fun fact, in the 11 games (I think that’s the number) Williame has played, manly hasn’t won any. He’s Manlys Luke Kelly haha.

On a serious, this is an excellent signing and we finally see the heart over the money. Great signing manly and thank you Knight

  6. Great player!! Barrett should 100% pick him next week.. Manly pack is weak.. Taupau is just a gym junkie that has 5 good games a yr.. Nate is a soft runner and makes no meters. Jake is a weapon but at 21 he need some help!! Knight would do everything to match Jake.. So he’s the help IMO. Put Nate to Lock have have the pack looking like
    Jake T
Nate purely for the old head factor

  7. Api hasn’t done much in his career, anyone could of played hooker in 2014 and won the grand final

  8. they need morte than liam knight after losing to a non top 8 side Friday night …although they did miss stewart ..manly fans your side will bounce back but not just yet …believe that

  9. Although you called me a fool Parramatta2014 I totally agree with you on both comments.
Eagle Rock Darcy Lussick are you serious.
What I saw the only new recruit trying was Dylan Walker, and he was in the centres and or wing,
    not at 5/8

  10. on Friday nights performance, Moanly will not even be close to top 8. However it is early in the season and who knows.
The much vaunted Manly pack were seriously outmuscled by doggies.
