Huddersfield Giants utility back Jamie Simpson is returning to Australia.
The 25-year-old former South Sydney Rabbitohs centre has agreed an early release from his Galpharm contract after making just seven appearances for the Super League club.
Simpson – who survived cancer as a teenager and has done inspirational work to help youngsters with the disease – is already in talks to resume his career in Australia’s NRL.
Huddersfield managing director Richard Thewlis explained: “I expect to see Jamie quickly return to the NRL scene.
“He leaves us with our very best wishes for the future and thanks for his time with us.”
