Greg Inglis is considering legal action if the Melbourne Storm don’t release him from his contract next year to join the Brisbane Broncos.
Inglis is due to join the Brisbane Broncos’ opening pre-season training day on Monday at St Lucia’s University of Queensland, despite not yet being officially released by the Storm.
But the stand-off is far from settled with the Storm sticking to their guns. Melbourne will only release Inglis from his current two-year deal if he pays a portion of the legal bill related to assault charges from last year.
And the contract saga could take a further twist with rival NRL clubs – including South Sydney, and French rugby union – set to pounce on the Test star if he becomes a free agent.
