Talented centre Jamal Idris has shut down media speculation about his playing future by pledging his commitment to the Panthers for 2016.

Idris met new Panthers coach Anthony Griffin for the first time on Wednesday and confirmed his desire to recover from his ACL injury and return to top form at Penrith.

“I don’t watch much media but I’m just ready to start (preseason training) on Monday,” Idris told Nine News.

“(Anthony) is a great bloke. He’s easy to talk to and we talked about my start on Monday.

“Obviously I love the club and I want to be here.”
