Townsville Blackhawks fullback Jahrome Hughes will saddle up with the Cowboys for his second crack at an NRL career.
Hughes has signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys, joining the 2015 premiers for the start of pre-season training in early December.
He will still likely be allocated to the Blackhawks for Intrust Super Cup duties, but is now in the mix to force his way into first grade.
“It’s a well-earned opportunity, that’s what it is,” Cowboys general manager of football Peter Parr said.
“He’s played particularly well all season and he has a lot of ability. Anyone coming into a squad as strong as this one is going to have to earn his stripes, but it’s a great opportunity for him.”
