After a breakthrough season in the NRL the rookie fullback agreed to an upgraded contract, which will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2013 season.
“It’s exactly what I wanted,” Gardner said.
“I didn’t want to start the season off contract so it’s good to know I’ll be here for at least another three years.
“I couldn’t be happier with the club, everyone has been amazing and I love playing for the Sharks.”
Gardner enjoyed a stellar season for the Sharks where he finished as the club’s leading try scorer in his debut year.
The 20-year-old scored eight tries and was also equal leading point-scorer in 2010, claiming 54-points alongside retired winger Luke Covell.
