Exciting Canberra Raiders duo Blake Ferguson and Jarrod Croker are certain to ink new deals by the end of the week – and now the pair hope superstar teammate Josh Dugan follows suit and remains in the nation’s capital.
Ferguson and Croker confirmed they had already commenced talks about stretching their current deals beyond 2012.
Canberra boss Don Furner told us last night he hoped to have the young duo stitched up in a matter of days.
While Furner said he would fight “tooth and nail” to retain Dugan, Croker and Ferguson made it no secret they wanted the gun No.1 to stay put.
“Duges is leading the team well and brought back a ton of confidence from Origin,” Croker said. “I’m close to finalising something and it would be good to try and lock Duges in for a long time.”
Ferguson, whose extension extinguishes any talk of wanting a return to the Cronulla Sharks, said he had started to build a handy partnership with Dugan at the back, especially with kick returns.
