Has the door been left open for Hull FC to sign Blake Green for next season? That may be the case with Green's current club Melbourne Storm struggling to keep hold of the player. Hull chased the former Hull KR man earlier in the season, although their need for a new half-back has decreased since the emergence of Carlos Tuimavave and the Black and Whites appear to have cooled on the pursuit of Green. Still, if they decide to ignite it again, there's good news here.

The Storm have both their half-backs out of contract at the end of this season, with the priority currently given to getting Cooper Cronk's contract sorted. The Queensland scrum-half's salary is likely to take up a fair chunk of any remaining salary cap space, making it difficult for Melbourne to keep Green too.

"We'd love to keep him (Green) but whether that's possible or not, I'm not quite sure," said Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy. "At the moment we are still waiting for Cooper, and that'll solve a bit of the jigsaw puzzle when that's done." Manly are also reportedly interested in signing Green.
