Dan Hunt
Staying with Dragons

The St George Illawarra Dragons have today announced that front-rower Dan Hunt has today agreed to a contract extension that will see him remain at the Club at least until the end of 2013.

Hunt, 24, was today named to start in the front row for the 28th Charity Shield on Sunday against the Rabbitohs; it will be his first game since rupturing his Achilles in the warm-up to the Round 11 clash against the Raiders at WIN Stadium last May.

“It is pretty exciting times for me at the moment, to be returning to the field and also to secure my future here at the Dragons for a couple of extra years,” said Hunt.

“I can’t wait to get back out there and play and will be aiming to be consistent right throughout the season.

“The Club has been great to me and the fact that they were keen to extend my contract is a real positive for me and a great boost heading into Sunday and the 2011 season,” added Hunt.

The former Dapto Canaries junior made his first grade debut for the Dragons in Round 1 of the 2007 season against the Gold Coast Titans and has since played 78 NRL games.
