Daly Cherry-Evans is off contract at the end of next year, but there is no way the NRL Rookie of the Year will follow coach Des Hasler out of the Manly Sea Eagles.

Cherry-Evans was due to extend his deal at Manly until the end of 2014 in the lead-up to the grand final. Although a big fan of Dessie, Cherry-Evans is more than happy at the club and won’t baulk at putting pen to paper given the recent shenanigans.

His manager Gavin Orr has scheduled a meeting with Manly chief executive David Perry today, and Cherry-Evans had “played under four different coaches the past four years”.

“He also has a lot of time for Toovs (Geoff Toovey),” Orr told us.
